What is Standardized Testing?

Standardized testing is a process where achievement tests are administered to assess the knowledge and skills students obtain throughout their schooling. Students taking standardized tests must respond to the exact same set of questions or prompts, and their responses are scored as consistently as possible. By design, this method allows test graders to compare the relative performance of specific students or student groups.
